Healthy skin isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Everyone’s skin is different—whether it’s dry, oily, combination, or sensitive—so the goal is to find what works best for your skin, your lifestyle, and your environment.
I have sensitive, combination skin myself, which has changed over time and now leans more toward dry. Because of that, I’ve tried many different skincare lines over the years—from well-known brands to more natural-based products.
What I’ve learned is simple:
just because something is popular—or even labeled “natural”—doesn’t mean it will work for your skin.
🌿 Skincare Starts from Within
Skincare is more than what you put on your skin.
What you eat, drink, and how you care for your body all play a role in how your skin looks and feels. Hydration, nutrition, sleep, sunshine, and overall wellness all matter.
If your body isn’t supported, your skin will often reflect that—no product can fully replace that foundation.
💧 Not All Products Are the Same
Not all skincare is created equal.
Some products simply cleanse, while others are designed to nourish and support the health of your skin. The difference can be noticeable.
You don’t need to spend a fortune—but choosing quality products that work for you is worth it.
💄 Why Skin Health Matters (Especially with Makeup)
Over the years, when I’ve applied makeup for others, I’ve often heard:
“Why doesn’t my skin look the same when I use similar products?”
The answer is usually the condition of the skin underneath.
Makeup can enhance your look, but it can’t replace healthy, well-cared-for skin. When your skin is supported, everything—from moisturizers to primers to makeup—applies better and looks more natural.
✨ A Personal Note
Having sensitive skin has taught me to be very mindful of what I use.
Over the years, I’ve tested a wide range of products—sometimes very intentionally. A good friend of mine and I, both models at the time, would regularly visit places like department stores to try different skincare and makeup lines. We’d test cleansers, lotions, foundations, eyeshadows—then take samples home to see how our skin actually responded over time.
That experience taught me something important:
just because a product is a well-known name doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. And at the same time, some brands truly do live up to their reputation.
Every product has its strengths and limitations—it’s about finding what works best for you.
Even now, I still try new products from time to time, because skincare isn’t static. Your skin changes, and what works can change with it.
